Cabaret of Tears

An evening of noir-ish songs exploring the darker side of cabaret. Multi-faceted composer/singer Guy Harries and piano maestra Arin Maisky will take you on a journey encompassing the smoky decadence of Berlin between the wars, the shady glamour of Hollywood and the wacky logic of Wonderland. Songs by Hanns Eisler, Kurt Weill, Philip Glass and Guy Harries.

GUY HARRIES is a composer/performer based in London. He performs with voice, electronics, and wind instruments, and is involved in projects ranging from garage rock to political opera, from sound art to multimedia musicals. His music releases include solo work and collaborations with the POW Ensemble, Meira Asher and Yumi Hara on the labels X-OR, Sub Rosa, Sombre Soniks and Migro.
Guy also releases his own songs under the moniker Guy XY. His  most recent album release is Turing Cabaret – an art pop opera exploring the life of computer pioneer Alan Turing

ARIN MAISKY is an organ, harpsichord, piano and keyboard player. Her field of expertise is Early Music with an emphasis on the works of J.S.Bach, as well as contemporary repertoire. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Currently based in Tel Aviv, she is organist and Musical Director at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jaffa. In the past years she has been performing mainly as soloist in Israel and Europe. Some of her recent performances took place in Helsinki, Berlin, Freiburg, at the prestigious Concert Hall ‘Capella’ in St.Petersburg, the Organ Festival in Potsdam, the Jerusalem Bach Festival and with members of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra in a chamber setup at the Zucker Hall in Tel Aviv (‘an Organ at the Phil’). Maisky performs contemporary music and collaborates with composers such as Guy Harries, Dganit Elyakim, Ophir Ilzetzki and others.
